The body of Kaikan Kaennakam, 31, remained unidentified for months until police were able to solve the mystery through a distinctive tattoo on his leg.

Kaikan moved to Thailand to work in a restaurant after her modeling career ended and she needed to financially support her family back home.

She regularly posted images and videos online of her new life and shared her experiences with her family and friends.

Until she mysteriously stopped posting anything in April 2023, causing a huge panic in Thailand.

Kaikan’s family spent months trying to find her and even shopped at the Thai Embassy to help locate her.

They reached out to everyone living in the vicinity of Bahrain and were able to contact the Thai community living in the Middle East to help with the hunt.

The Thai Embassy in Bahrain informed Kaikan’s family on April 18 that they had found a woman’s body in the Salmaniya Medical Complex morgue.

He had been lying around without identification since last year after officers were initially unable to identify the body.

He was only linked to Kaikan after police found a tattoo on his leg.

His death was caused by “acute pulmonary and cardiac failure due to alcohol intoxication,” the autopsy report said.

Kaikan’s body is still in Bahrain as his family tries to bring him home to Thailand.

His family posted tributes online after discovering his tragic death.

Sister Suthida Ngernthaworn spoke about her brother’s death saying: “My sister started working in Bahrain about two or three years ago and found an Arab boyfriend there.

“However, we have not been able to contact her since April last year.

“Our family contacted the Thai Embassy in Bahrain and learned on April 18 this month that she had passed away.”

Suthida has her suspicions about Kaikan’s death as she claims that photos of his body show signs of bruising.

She also says that Kaikan would send them photos and videos before his body disappeared covered in marks and cuts.

Suthida continued: “The embassy in Bahrain documented the cause of death as alcohol poisoning, but photos of his body contained bruises.

“We couldn’t bring her body back because repatriation is expensive.

“My mother also wants the case reopened and an autopsy performed again.”

Paveena Hongsakul, founder of a women and children’s charity in Thailand, has been helping the family find answers.

Paveena arranged for the Police General Hospital to re-examine Kaikan’s body and re-evaluate the cause of death.

Speaking at a press conference, Paveena added: “Thai women should carefully consider whether they want to work abroad.

“There are risks of being led into prostitution, human trafficking or drug networks.”

Kaikan was not said to be involved in any unusual business in Bahrain.
