A bus driver was violently attacked while driving after denying a passenger’s request, causing him to collide with a store window.
Tihron Harrison, 23, punched and pulled the bus driver from his seat – leaving the bus without a diver for about a minute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Lt. Jeff Cooper of the Oklahoma City Police Department explained that the attack occurred after a brief conversation.
Harrison asked to get off the bus at a specific corner, but the driver said he couldn’t do that.
The bus driver told Harrison he would need to get off at the next designated stop because that is city policy.
“The suspect asked to be released at the intersection of Britton and Western,” NBC affiliate Cooper said. KFOR reported.
“The bus driver said he couldn’t do it.”
Jason Ferbrache, Director of the OKC Department of Public Transportation and Parking, said the bus driver received medical treatment for some bruises.
“Obviously (the driver) had some bumps and bruises.
“We took him to the medical center right after and he’s off work now, but he’s fine.”
Ferbrache sympathized with the bus driver and explained that it would be difficult for someone to be attacked while driving.
“When you’re faced with a situation like this, it doesn’t matter how much training you have,” Ferbrache said.
“It’s very difficult to prepare for someone to actually assault you while you’re driving a moving vehicle.”
Harrison fled the scene, but officers eventually caught him, KFOR reported.
ATTACK CAUGHT ON TAPE
The bus’s camera captured the horrific moment Harrison launched the attack.
Harrison is seen talking to the bus driver and quickly becoming agitated, which leads him to run his fist through the protective plexiglass between them.
The attack turned violent almost instantly as Harrisson continued to attack the bus driver as he drove.
Harrison pulled the bus driver from his seat and then grabbed him and grabbed his face.

It is very difficult to prepare for someone to actually assault you while you are driving a moving vehicle.

The bus driver tried to fight Harrison but was thrown to the ground by his neck.
Another man on the bus tried to intervene and pull Harrison off the driver, but he wouldn’t stop attacking.
The bus driver finally freed himself from Harrison’s grasp, but the bus was headed straight for a store.
When the bus driver got up, the bus crashed straight into the store building.
