Kevin Spacey has denied new allegations of inappropriate behavior by men appearing in a Channel 4 documentary released next week.
In an interview with the journalist Dan Wootton posted on X, the double Oscar winner said he “will no longer be speechless.”
Last year, Spatial was found not guilty by a jury of nine sexual crimes alleged by four men between 2001 and 2013 following a trial in London.
He also won a civil lawsuit in the US in October 2022 after being accused of unwanted sexual advances at a party in 1986.
The Channel 4 documentary titled Spacey Unmasked is said to feature testimonies from men “about events they say occurred between 1976 and 2013 and related to what they describe as unwanted sexual behavior” by Spacey, according to an email shown during the interview.
‘I wasn’t in the deal’
The two-part series, produced by Roast Beef Productions, will air on Monday and Tuesday next week.
“I take full responsibility for my past behavior and actions, but I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologize to anyone who has made up things about me or exaggerated stories about me,” said the 64-year-old American actor.
“I’ve never told anyone that if they gave me sexual favors I would help their career, ever.
“…I clearly hooked up with some men who thought they could advance their careers if they were in a relationship with me.
“But there was no conversation with me, it was all part of their plan, a plan that was always doomed to fail, because I was not involved in the agreement.”
‘Clumsy passes’
During the interview, he denied allegations of any illegal behavior, but said he had made “awkward passes” with people in the past.
“Were there times when I flirted with some of the people involved in these shows who were in their early 20s? Yes,” he said.
“Have I ever hooked up with another actor? Yes. I made an awkward pass at someone who wasn’t interested? Yes.
“But I didn’t employ them, I wasn’t their boss, I was often just swimming for an hour here or there as a well-known actor to provide support… to answer questions.
