At least 200,000 homes across the South are without power after a series of powerful tornadoes, thunderstorms and baseball-sized hail swept through the region.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado alert in Tallahassee, Florida, at 6:50 a.m. Friday.
As of 10 a.m. EST, 66,356 residents were without power, according to the city outage map.
Several schools in the area closed and residents were warned to shelter in place.
“Dangerous situation unfolding in Tallahassee at this time,” the National Weather Service in Tallahassee wrote in a statement. Xold Twitter.
“Seek shelter immediately. Multiple circulations and radar-confirmed tornadoes apparent on radar.”
The city of Tallahassee asked people to stay off the roads to help clear a path for first responders.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Florida and Georgia until 12 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service Atlanta.
Photos from Tallahassee showed the damage left by the strong winds that swept through the area.
The possible tornado downed trees, tangled power lines and ripped the roofs off several homes.
