A BRITISH tourist has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman at a Costa del Sol hotel.
The 27-year-old man was taken into custody after the woman said she was attacked in a Lux hotel in Puerto Banus near Marbella.
The hotel was not named.
She claimed the sexual assault occurred during an impromptu party with friends they met at a nearby beach club.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was taken to hospital to be examined by a doctor.
The suspect he was arrested shortly afterwards.
Police have not yet made any official comment.
It was not immediately clear this morning whether the Briton has appeared in court and whether he has been remanded in custody or released on bail pending an ongoing investigation.
Earlier this month, an RAF soldier was arrested in Mallorca after a British man accused him of raping her in a four-star hotel in Magaluf.
He was released and allowed to fly back to the UK.
But he remains under investigation after his accuser failed to ratify her police complaint before a judge.
