In second place was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as 15% of respondents said they would be interested in voting for the former WWE star.

In last place in the top three was Tom Hanks (12%), followed by Clint Eastwood (10%), George Clooney (10%) and Oprah Winfrey (9%).

In the bottom two spots on the celebrity list were brothers Jake and Logan Paul – both earning just 2% of the vote.

Interestingly, of the robust list of celebrities provided by the survey, more than a third said they had no interest in voting for any of them (36%).

But while running a celebrity as your party’s presidential candidate might seem like a good idea, survey results showed that it might not get you there.

According to the survey, 28% of Americans are at least somewhat more likely to vote for a celebrity they like if they run for president, with 13% saying they are “much more likely.”

But an overwhelming 52% said it would not affect their vote at all – and 21% said it would make them less likely.

Similarly, only 17% of all respondents believed that “fame” is an important requirement for running for public office, with 73% believing it is not important.

And social media presence and influence doesn’t seem to be a factor either.

Only 21% would feel at least a little more inclined to vote for a candidate who had a large following on social media.

For six in ten (60%), this does not affect how they vote.

THE ROCK

Johnson was the second preferred choice for celebrity, as the president and political parties had already approached him about the possibility.

He confirmed that Democratic and Republican representatives had asked him if he would be interested in running.

“At the end of 2022, I received visits from parties asking me if I was going to run and if I could run,” Johnson said in an episode of What Now? With Trevor Noah

“It came out of nowhere and it was one after another.”

Another search in 2021 by News week showed that 46% of Americans would vote for Johnson for president.

“It was all very surreal because that was never my goal.
