A man who won $1.35 billion in the lottery is said to be embroiled in a legal battle… with his own family.
The Mega Millions winner, who has not been identified but is believed to be from the US state of Mainewon the fourth biggest jackpot in US history last year (valued at around £1.07bn).
But the story has become more complex since then, and the man is now involved in a legal process with two members of his family, reports the American media The Daily Beast.
He is said to have sued his daughter’s mother for allegedly revealing his newfound wealth to other members of his family in what he claimed was a violation of a confidentiality agreement.
The lottery winner also reportedly demanded hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, alleging that his son’s mother told his father, sister and stepmother about his big windfall.
But in recent court documents, the woman alleged that the man himself told her father and stepmother about the victory, The Daily Beast reported.
His attorneys said this “destroys the remaining fragments” of the lawsuit.

The father of the anonymous lottery winner has also apparently become embroiled in the legal process, alleging that his son misled him about several things since winning.
“I understand that my son has stated that he did not tell me anything about his money ‘other than the simple fact that he had won’. That is not true,” she said in a statement.
His father adds that his son “told me a number of things he planned to do with his money,” although he never asked for anything, The Daily Beast also reported.
These supposedly included building a new garage for his father, as well as buying old cars for repairs.
