Authorities said she jumped on a bus after fleeing with the stolen merchandise.

The robbery occurred in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, about 30 miles from Philadelphia, on April 10, according to the Newton Borough Police Department.

The alleged makeup thief was identified getting off a public transport bus before entering the store.

Around 2:30 p.m., the woman was seen stuffing items into her cargo pants and a black purse, police said.

She then left the store – without paying for the cosmetics – and caught a Southeastern Pennsylvania Public Transportation Authority (SEPTA) bus.

In surveillance video released by police, the woman was wearing a black T-shirt with “Disney Villains” on the front.

She paired the look with baggy black cargo pants and matching shoes.

Her short, blonde hair was down and tied with a white headband.

“We are cooperating with local law enforcement as they investigate this incident,” CVS Communications Director Amy Thibault told The US Sun on Wednesday.

“We have deferred to authorities as to whether they would like to release further details about their investigation,” she added.

Authorities asked the public to help them identify the suspect.

No word was released about why the woman chose to wear the Villain’s shirt during the robbery.

ORGANIZED CRIME

CVS has been trying to control organized retail crime.

What is grand theft?

A robbery is considered grand theft when:

-It is associated with valuable items

-Stolen property is worth more than a set minimum value (this value varies by state)

-There is intention behind the act. If a person intends to temporarily or permanently deprive a victim of his or her right to property or the benefits thereof, this is generally considered grand theft.

US retailers lost more than $112 billion due to theft in 2022, according to Fox.

In March, CVS CEO Karen Lynch explained the reasons why many CVS stores were forced to place items in locked cages.

“Organized retail theft is a big problem for us,” Lynch said.

“They’re coming in and emptying the shelves and then reselling them.”

Lynch said some thieves entered the store and wasted no time selecting the items they wanted to take before leaving without paying.

“They’re coming and they’re destroying the entire counter,” she said.

“What concerns me most is the safety of our colleagues and the safety of our customers, which is why we have implemented new safety measures over the last two years,” she said.

CVS used to lock up expensive items, but these days it’s increasingly common to find low-cost items like shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant behind a lock and key.

CVS said it is working with authorities to try to contain the problem and catch the perpetrators.
