All six dead women were found within a 100-mile radius of Portland, Oregon, within a four-month period.

Charity is one of six victims who authorities believe may be linked to a serial killer in the area.

Her remains were found on April 24, after she went missing in early March.

At first, her family feared she was experiencing schizophrenia and substance abuse issues after being released from the hospital following an overdose.

But as more bodies were found, Diana pointed to the perpetrator of the death of her daughter and five other women.

“The numbers are worrying, and when you start adding suspicious circumstances, you’re just trying to figure out what’s going on,” Diana said.

“I think there’s a lot of information that I don’t have that the detectives have, so I can’t say that for sure. [there may be a serial killer in the area] but I’m worried there might be.”

Investigators are looking into possible connections between JoAnna Speaks, 32, Bridget Leann Ramsey Webster, 31, and Charity, who died within weeks of each other in April.

A fourth unidentified woman was found dead the same day as Charity.

Two other suspicious deaths in the area include the deaths of 22-year-old Kristin Smith, found on February 19, and 22-year-old Ashley Real, who was found in Eagle Creek on May 7, six weeks after she was seen alive by last time.

“I’ve lived here a long time and I’ve never heard of so many bodies being found – period – much less in such a short space of time.

“I think there’s too much going on to rule out the idea of a serial killer, and I know if I was a detective and I didn’t have enough information yet, I would say there wasn’t because I wouldn’t want the person responsible to know that I’m after them.

“So even if it were true, I wouldn’t want that information to come out, so maybe that’s what the police are doing.”

A MOTHER’S REACTION

Diana shared more of her perspective on Charity’s last moments and supposed final resting place with a News Nation news reporter.

“I don’t believe she died here,” she told him.

“I think she was placed in this area.”

With the walls covered in graffiti, she was found in a tunnel under I-84.

According to her mother, Charity was not driving and there was no reason for her to be there.

Authorities also shared with her that based on the evidence, there was no way her daughter could have walked to the location.

“She had no shoes. So besides it being cold, they would be able to tell if she had walked that far,” said Diana.

Upon finding Charity’s body, investigators marked her death as suspicious.

Convicted felon Jesse Lee Calhoun was named as a person of interest in his death and a few others, but no charges were filed after this announcement.

Diana shared that whoever left Charity in the tunnel did so for a purpose.

“I still don’t know how she was positioned. I just know they worked hard to hide it,” she told the reporter, getting teary-eyed.

“I almost went without even knowing [where she was],” she explained.

But even if Charity’s body hadn’t been found, the grieving mother would have persevered.

“I would never have stopped looking for her,” Diana said.

THE LAST CALL

Diana spoke to The US Sun about the last time she had contact with her daughter in early 2023.

“The last time I spoke to her was in January,” Diana said.

“I was able to speak to her through some people in the tents near where she was staying, and they would often send me messages saying that she had returned well or that she had gotten the things I had. leave it for her, or they would pass along a message to say I loved her,” said Charity’s mother.

Diana was focused on trying to give Charity the help and care she needed to get well.

“She knew I really wanted her to go back to the mental health hospitals so we could do an assessment and figure out where to go from there,” she said.

“I have her little brother at home [aged 10]so I couldn’t just bring her home because of her mental health.

“But I just wanted to drag her to the hospital.”

She recounted the moment she realized she would never speak to her daughter again.

“They told me they found her body and I wish I had a few minutes to deny it, but they identified her by her fingerprints.

“I didn’t even get a chance to tell them they had the wrong girl,” she added through tears.

“I was always afraid of receiving that call, as a father, especially from a girl, and especially when we couldn’t know where she was.

“But I was never prepared for the details of that call.

“It’s been devastating.”

Before she disappeared, Charity was in hospital due to an overdose, but Diana was shocked to discover this as the hospital never contacted her.

“I don’t know why,” Diana said of the loss of communication.

“every other time they called and I really had no problem picking her up or helping her come up with a plan, but the last time they never called and just sent her away.”

That was the last time anyone could reliably locate Charity’s whereabouts.

“I don’t know much about where she went from there. That was the last time she was on the grid, but I believe she was in the Clackamas area sometime between the end of March and the first week of April,” he said. Diana.

LAID TO REST BLANK

Charity was buried in her mother’s wedding dress on June 21

Although Diana and Charity’s father are no longer together, she said her daughter hopes to one day wear the dress to her own wedding.

“[It will be a closed casket] so I won’t be able to see it, but I can imagine that my imagination will be more beautiful than the real image.

“She was out there too long for me to see her.

“The dress is from my wedding with her father […] she always wanted and thought we would get back together, which would have been a bad thing.

“But she was immature in her mindset and thought that this would eventually happen and that everything in the world would be fine again after this.

“Then she will be wearing the dress and we will bury her with some photos and a Christmas present that her brother never gave her.”

What Diana will remember most about her daughter is her smile, she said.

“No matter how sick she was, or how hard she was having it, she always thought she would get a job and then be able to take care of me and her brother.
