A BRITISH girl drowned in a hotel pool in Tenerife during a family holiday.
The six-year-old child – who has not been identified – was reportedly pulled from the water almost an hour after a lifeguard reached the point.
Police have launched an investigation into his death on May 9 at the Granada Park Aparthotel in Los Cristianos.
Investigators are looking into where the girl’s parents were at the time – and why there were no lifeguards at the pool.
According to Canary Weeklythe lifeguard clocked in at 6pm and the young man was found in the water at 6:50pm.
Authorities said the British girl – who was on holiday with her parents – was removed from the pool by other guests and hotel staff.
Several police officers who were in the area rushed to the scene and discovered that the young man was conscious and “very scared” when he arrived, local reports say.
Paramedics fought to save her and rushed her to hospital – where she tragically died.
