RAPPER Sean “Diddy” Combs broke his silence and apologized days after a shocking video was released showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie in 2016.
Combs apologized for his actions that appeared in the video in a post shared on Instagram on Sunday.
He began the video by saying that it is “so difficult” to reflect on the “darkest moments of your life.”
“I was screwed,” Combs said.
“I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I don’t make excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable.
He continued, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
“I’m disgusted. I was disgusted when I did it and I’m disgusted now.
Combs revealed that he sought help after the 2016 incident.
“I went and sought professional help and I had to go to therapy, I had to go to rehab. I had to ask God for mercy and grace.”
The rapper apologized for the actions featured in the distressing video, saying, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m committed to being a better man every day.”
He ended the minute-long apology by saying he was not asking for forgiveness.
“I’m sorry,” Combs said.
The apology comes just days after disturbing surveillance footage was released showing Combs assaulting Cassie, born Casandra Ventura.
In the shocking clips, Combs is seen holding a towel around his waist as he stalks Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
She was seen waiting for an elevator with several suitcases.
