POPULAR YouTuber Jenny Nicholson returned to the platform a year after her last video, asking fans to stop spreading rumors about her whereabouts.
For more than a decade, Nicholson has regularly shared video essays on YouTube related to Star Wars, Disney, Marvel, other popular film series, and more.
As of Sunday, his last video shared on YouTube was posted on November 5, 2021.
The video accumulated more than 9.5 million views and was a review of the now-closed Evermore theme park in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Your absence from the platform left many fans wondering where she went and whether she stopped creating content altogether.
However, she made a triumphant return to YouTube on Sunday, with a video that has already generated more than 500,000 views.
O 4 hour long video is a scathing review of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel that was located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The hotel closed in September 2023.
She addressed her absence in a comment below the video, saying she is still creating and uploading content on YouTube, but the videos are longer than before.
“I try to make them the best I can, which means they can take a while,” Nicholson wrote.
She explained that for those who want less formal and more frequent videos, she uploads them monthly on her Patreon platform.
The platform is based on a subscription-based model, with Nicholson offering annual subscriptions starting at $1 per month.
Nicholson’s subscriptions go for $25 per month, offering different features such as the ability to submit video topic suggestions, video previews, exclusive monthly videos, and credit.
“It’s a backlog of over 80 videos at the moment, and all tiers have access to all of them,” she wrote.
Nicholson has previously criticized YouTube on monetization issues.
“I’m sure limited monetization is at the complainant’s discretion; I’ve had previous claims where the video is fully monetized, it just sits in escrow for 30 days until the money is released (to be honest, it’s inevitable for me, because I’ve never actually violated copyright),” she wrote in a 2022 tweet.
At the time, she indicated that similar issues were why creators were using Patreon.
On Sunday, Nicholson said he is aware that joining as a member may not make sense to some of his viewers.
To this, she said “no problem”.
“I’m very lucky to already have all the support I have there,” said the YouTuber.
“But it is an option that is available to you if you find waiting between public videos difficult.
“I get new clients all the time saying they wish they had known about this sooner, so this is me letting everyone know! So there! and please stop telling everyone that I’m dead.
Thousands of YouTube users flooded Nicholson’s comments section, many saying they already support her on Patreon.
“I can guarantee that Patreon is 100% worth it. I think there is a minimum level of $2 per month for all videos,” said one viewer.
“I definitely recommend subscribing to her Patreon! The price is very reasonable and the amount of content is really great! Definitely the best Patreon I subscribe to,” another added.
