The family of a pastor’s wife whose death was ruled a suicide have shared their doubts about the decision as they await the results of a toxicology report.
Mica Miller’s body was discovered in a North Carolina state park on April 27, just days after she served her husband John-Paul Miller, 40, with divorce papers.

Police said they found her body in Lumber River State Park after receiving a 911 call from her before she died.
“The caller asked the dispatcher if her phone could be located because she was going to kill herself and wanted her family to find her body,” cops said in a statement.
His death was ruled a suicide by the coroner, but his family disagrees.
“I believe it was all staged,” said Mica’s father, Michael Francis. NewsNation.
“I believe everything was premeditated.”
Although Mica’s husband, John-Paul, is not a person of interest in the case, her family alleges that he pushed her to commit suicide during years of psychological abuse and manipulation.
They are now said to be considering filing a wrongful death lawsuit against him, with the family’s lawyer explaining why a toxicology report could reveal new information.
Speaking with TV Courthis lawyer Regina Ward claimed that John-Paul was prescribed lithium before Mica’s death and claimed he could have given it to his wife to subdue her.
The lawyer also claimed that he could have controlled Mica while she was in this supposed state.
“He claims she was diagnosed with these mental illnesses and was on lithium,” Ward told Court TV.
“According to her, she didn’t know she had been diagnosed or what the medication was, because he always controlled the medication.
“If you take too much or you’re overmedicated, you go into delirium, and that’s what she — that’s what her behavior reminded me of when I watched the whole video.”
Video footage obtained by NewsNation showed Miller’s last movements in the hours before his death.
The clip showed Miller entering a gas station to buy an energy drink, then returning to his car and filling it up.
This gas station, in Mullen, South Carolina, was 25 minutes from the state park.
She was dressed all in black and the store owner said he didn’t notice anything unusual about her or their encounter.
“Nothing, nothing special. Nothing, you know, like, just a normal day, a normal day, a normal thing,” he told the outlet.
After Mica’s death, however, police records showed that she believed someone was watching or following her.
On March 11, Mica’s tires were slashed and after finding tracking devices in her car, she called the police.
Mica told police at the time that it was “the second time a razor deflated his tire in the last week,” according to the report.
Although she had an idea who was stalking her, police did not have enough information to charge that person.
According to the report, Mica “feared for her life”.

- 12:12 p.m.: Surveillance cameras see her entering Dick’s Pawn Shop at 1852 Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach
- 12:32 p.m.: She is seen on camera buying the gun
- 12:34 p.m.: Her car is recorded leaving the parking lot
- 1:27 pm: Security footage shows Miller entering 41 Grocery & Grill in Mullins and getting directions to Lumber River State Park
- 2:54 pm: Dispatchers receive a 911 call from the park parking lot
