TWELVE passengers and crew were injured on a Qatar Airways flight after experiencing intense turbulence.

The jet was on its way from Doha to Dublin when he began to shake while flying over Turkey, just days after the deadly Singapore Airlines flight.

Emergency services are now at Dublin Airport after six passengers and six aviation staff were injured following the terrifying ordeal.

In a statement, Qatar Airways told The Sun: “Qatar Airways can confirm that flight QR017, a Boeing B787-9 from Doha to Dublin, landed safely.

“A small number of passengers and crew suffered minor injuries during the flight and are now receiving medical care.

“The matter is now subject to an internal investigation. The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority.”

Graeme McQueen, media relations manager at daa, operator of Dublin Airport, said Sky News: “Upon landing, the aircraft was met by emergency services, including the Airport Police and our Fire and Rescue Department, due to six passengers and six crew [12 total] on board reporting injuries after the aircraft experienced turbulence while flying over Turkey.

“Dublin Airport staff continue to provide comprehensive ground assistance to passengers and airline staff.”

An internal investigation into the incident has been launched.

This comes just days after a Singapore Airlines Boeing jet plunged 7,000 feet in a deadly six-minute crash.

Those on board the flight that killed British grandfather Geoff Kitchen, 73, remember “doing somersaults” while others were “hurled into the ceiling”.

Flight SQ321 took off from London Heathrow shortly after 10pm on Monday with 211 passengers and 18 crew on board – including 47 Brits.

Nearly 11 hours into the 13-hour journey to Singapore, the packed jet was wrecked by sudden “severe turbulence” while passengers were eating breakfast, officials said.

Shocking footage showed food, drinks and cutlery strewn across the plane’s galleys as it was violently tossed around.

Ceiling fixtures were destroyed and piping exposed – and a panicked flight attendant was seen with blood running from her nose.

Passengers appeared in shock after landing as paramedics and staff helped them off the plane in wheelchairs and stretchers – some with neck braces.

The Singapore Airlines flight was diverted to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where it made an emergency landing shortly before 4pm local time.

The plane was supposed to land at Changi Airport in Singapore at 6:10 pm local time.

Boeing 777-300ER plunged from 38,000 feet to 31,000 feet near the Andaman Sea as it approached Thailand, according to flight tracker FlightRadar24.

A convoy of 13 ambulances rushed to the scene in Bangkok – with images showing emergency vehicles lined up on the tarmac.

Geoff Kitchen, 73, died of a heart attack after the Singapore Airlines Boeing flight plunged 7,000 feet in just six minutes, sparking panic in the air.

The grandfather, from Thornbury, Gloucestershire, had just started a six-week trip to Singapore, Indonesia, Japan It is Australiawith his wife Linda when the tragedy happened.

The enthusiastic amateur actor and former safe worker was described as “a really Cool dude” by his devastated friends.

Boeing said: “We extend our deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one and our thoughts are with the passengers and crew.”
