At least seven deaths were reported in Cooke County, Texas, after a tornado destroyed an area near a mobile home park, according to the Associated Press.

The severe storms also resulted in 20 injuries in the area, according to Cooke County Sheriff Ray Sappington.

The sheriff later confirmed that the dead included two children: a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old.

“We have five confirmed (deaths), but unfortunately we think that number is likely to increase,” Sappington told reporters.

“There’s nothing left of this house. It’s just a trail of debris. The devastation is quite severe.”

Four deaths were also confirmed by authorities in Oklahoma and Arkansas, two in each state, the outlet reported.

Dozens of other people were injured by the powerful storms, with approximately 60 to 80 people trapped at a Shell gas station in northeast Texas.

Sappington said CNN that although several injuries were reported, none of them were life-threatening.

From Sunday, tornado watches were issued in parts of southwestern Indiana, Kentucky and northern Tennessee.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans remain without power, according to poweroutage.us.

As of Sunday afternoon, more than 164,000 people were without power in Kentucky, more than 102,000 in Arkansas, as well as more than 55,000 in Texas.
