A police officer reportedly died along with two other people in a horror shooting that left six people shot to death in Minneapolis on Thursday.
The shooting, which targeted two officers in total, began just before 6pm at an apartment complex in the city’s Whittier neighborhood.

Police were responding to a call when witnesses said multiple shots were fired from the second floor, according to the CBS affiliate. WCCO-TV.
Ruben Molina, who lives on the third floor of the apartment complex, said he and his girlfriend heard several gunshots.
“At first we heard very loud knocks,” Molina said.
“Then we heard it again and again and again in quick succession, and she and I were like, ‘Oh, those are gunshots.’”
Afterwards, Molina says he heard a woman frantically call 911 and say two people had been shot in the head, including her boyfriend.
When asked if he saw officers firing their weapons, Molina said there were “several individuals” and he “couldn’t tell if they were officers or not.”
It is unclear what led to this situation and what call police were responding to at the time of the shooting.
“At this time, four civilians and two MPD officers are injured,” the Minneapolis Police Department said. posted on Facebook.
“This continues to be a fluid situation,” the post continued, advising residents to stay away from the Whittier neighborhood.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced on X, formerly Twitter, that state police are now on the scene working with the local police department.
“The State of Minnesota stands ready to provide all necessary resources,” his post continues.
“Praying for all local first responders working to keep the community safe.”
Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are also on scene helping and are “there to help expedite the firearms investigation,” Ashlee Sherrill, a spokeswoman for the local field division, told the affiliate NBC site. KTTC-TV.
