Four people were seriously injured in shootings in the western German city of Hagen, police said on Saturday.

Police in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia said the four victims were expected to survive. The alleged perpetrator of the crime is still at large, and a police helicopter is being used in the search.

Authorities previously confirmed to DPA that the two crime scenes included a hairdressing salon and a nearby residential building in Hagen, south of Dortmund.

Police said officers were at the scene with a large contingent and asked the public to avoid the area around the crime scenes. The incident may have been linked to a family dispute, police added.
