Is Alex Jones’ InfoWars closing?

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, InfoWars had a bizarre “emergency” live stream.

During the live broadcast, Alex Jones claimed that the government was trying to shut down the website.

Jones became visibly upset and stated that he was being targeted and accused of crimes.

He criticized those who filed lawsuits against him, stating that if anyone planned to “frame someone and lie about them to federal court,” they should have been aware that the case had already been filed.

His outburst included aggressive language and threats.

The conspiracy theorist declared his determination to continue fighting, expressing confidence in overcoming his opponents.

Jones spoke on the live broadcast: “I have been under attack.

“I was lit. I have secret federal files on me that I’m committing crimes, forwarded to the justice department.

“Which was obviously not true, it had already been presented in federal court months before.”

He then shouted, “You want fucking war, you got it!”

It’s unclear whether the government is trying to shut down InfoWars, as Jones is known for his outlandish claims.

Who is Alex Jones?

Alexander Emerick Jones is an American far-right radio show host and conspiracy theorist.

He was born on February 11, 1974 in Dallas, Texas.

Jones’s InfoWars website promotes conspiracy theories and fake news.

The site was founded in 1999 and covers a range of false topics such as government corruption, false flag operations and various political conspiracies.

In addition to the website, he also has a radio program and several social media accounts.

How much does Alex Jones owe families affected by the Sandy Hook shooting?

Jones, without any evidence, falsely claimed that the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting was a “giant hoax” performed by actors.

As a result, he was sued by the families affected by the shooting.

The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a mass shooting that occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut.

20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people, 20 of whom were children.

In September 2021, Texas judge Maya Guerra Gamble concluded that he was legally responsible for the damages.

The judge wrote in a statement: “The Court considers that the Defendants’ failure to comply…is greatly aggravated by the [their] consistent pattern of abuse of discovery in similar cases pending before this Court.”

“The Court finds that Defendants’ discovery conduct in this case is the result of blatant bad faith and callous disregard for discovery responsibilities under the rules.”

Two months later, in November 2021, Jones, among other defendants, was found liable for defamation by a judge in Connecticut.

On August 2, 2022, the parents of Sandy Hook shooting victim Jesse Lewis sued him for emotional distress.

Two days later, Jones was ordered to pay $4 million in compensation to the grieving parents of the Sandy Hook victim.

Jesse’s mother, Scarlett Lewis, told the jury that Jones should pay compensation as it could motivate him to stop spreading conspiracy theories.

She said: “There was no sincere apology.

“But if there ever was, I liken it to a car accident and you run over someone and cause tremendous bodily harm and you look at that person lying on the ground and say, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m not responsible for any harm. that I just caused. But I’m sorry. That’s how I see it.”

On August 5, 2022, the jury ruled that Jones must pay the Sandy Hook parents another $45 million in punitive damages.

Two months later, he was ordered to pay more than $950 million in damages.

This left the conspiracy theorist broke.
