Regional trains along the West Trenton line to Philadelphia are operating with delays following a fatal crash at the Philadelphia-Bucks county border, a SEPTA official confirmed Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. when an unidentified man jumped from the Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge onto the southbound tracks between Trevose and Somerton stations, transit agency spokesman Andrew Busch said.

A preliminary investigation suggests the man jumped before being struck by the train, Busch said.

The 80 passengers on the train, which was heading to Suburban Station in the city center, were transferred to another train. No injuries were reported among passengers or employees, Busch said.

The southbound line is closed, but SEPTA is rerouting northbound and southbound West Trenton line trains on its northbound line, which remains in operation, resulting in delays along the line, Busch said.
