Watch the moment cops chase an escaped inmate found in a woman’s car – he had been on the run for weeks and lied about his name

POLICE body camera footage captured the dramatic chase and capture of an escaped prisoner who was found hiding in a woman’s car.

A Tampa, Florida woman opened her car to find fugitive Jesse Hall, 31, who had been on the run for weeks.

The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. on May 26, NBC affiliate WFLA reported on June 3.

The unidentified woman heard her BMW’s car alarm and got out to investigate.

She initially thought a neighbor’s cat had set off the car alarm.

But instead, he found Hall in the passenger seat.

Hall grabbed her arm, but she broke free and retreated into her home.

Police arrived and found Hall near the BMW, but he fled.

However, police chased him and eventually caught him after he surrendered at gunpoint.

Hall had a Taser resembling a keychain belonging to the woman, according to WFLA.

“While searching [Hall] for weapons, a small Taser resembling a keychain was located on his person,” the statement per WFLA said.

“The victim then left his residence crying hysterically.”

Body camera footage showed Hall asking why police were called on him after his arrest.

“Why did I have the police call me?” Hall asked officers at the time, according to the affidavit.

Police found a Nokia cell phone in the car, which Hall claimed was his.

WEIRD SCENARIO

The phone showed several missed calls from a person named Joe DiBlasi.

Hall said he was dropped off by DiBlasi to see a woman in the neighborhood.

He originally gave police a false name, Jess Hillman, and no records turned up under that name.

But his fingerprints revealed his true identity.

The escaped inmate told police he ended up in the woman’s car because he was in a bad situation.

“Things happened,” Hall told police, according to WFLA.

“That’s why I was in the car. See the cameras [redacted]House.”

Hall escaped from an Orlando prison on May 22.

He was serving a seven-year sentence for auto theft and drug-related crimes.

Hall was taken to the Lake County Jail and held without bond.

The US Sun reached out to the Lady Lake Police Department for an update on the case.

Meanwhile, in another shocking and heroic moment, police camera footage was captured as a police officer ran towards a burning car to save people.

“Walking up to him, you don’t know if there’s anyone there to begin with, then there’s a fire, there’s a risk of you getting burned in the chaos,” Lauderhill Police Officer Jason Reyes told the NBC affiliate. WTVJ.

“But you have to check if there’s anyone in that car.”
