June 4th – CLARKS SUMMIT – It’s been a while since I found a place to have lunch. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Booyah! Burgers and Bites, so I ordered a little of everything.

The whole experience was super friendly and quick – and they didn’t even judge me for ordering a four-course meal at 1pm. It’s important Weekender research!

Booyah! Burgers & Bites has a classic drive-up ice cream parlor vibe. They’re rocking the service of a fast-food franchise, with the menu of an old-school American diner, including burgers, ice cream, chicken, hoagies, fries and other sides. They have locations in Clarks Summit and Wyoming to serve Lackawanna and Luzerne counties for lunch and dinner.

I went a little crazy and I don’t regret a thing. I ordered the “Boo-rogies” with homemade garlic butter sauce, garlic parmesan chicken pieces, buffalo sauce with tortilla chips, and of course, the namesake food – a burger!

My photos of the Booyah burger don’t do it enough justice. This wonderfully messy and chunky burger was delicious. While there were tons of options to customize your order (including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options), I opted for the original Cheeseburger recipe and couldn’t be happier. Next time I’ll do all the crazy toppings!

Booyah’s Buffalo Sauce! Burgers and snacks in Clarks Summit

The first thing I looked for was the Buffalo wing hot sauce with tortilla chips. In fact, I ate so much of this delicious creamy sauce that I had to eat the rest of the meal later…

I also really liked the garlic and parmesan bites; it was a great sauce and cooked perfectly for chewing and sharing. The establishment offers a wide variety of sauces to keep every meal fresh with unique flavors – all your standard choices, plus everything from Angry Elf to Carolina BBQ and Dill Pickle. (I had to REALLY stop myself from ordering another plate of pickles for my Weekender food review)

But of all the delicious things I tried, I think the pierogies were my favorite…they were perfect little fried pockets of deliciousness, dipped in garlic butter…perfection. These babies aren’t trying to beat your grandma’s pierogies, they have their own flair… as if diners or hot dog stands make pierogies and – make them well!

My only regret on my visit is not having room for ice cream.

Find a wide variety of nostalgic treats, from fried appetizers to frozen desserts. There is an extensive menu to suit almost every diet, preference and appetite at Booyah! Burgers and bites. Bring the whole family and sit outside or order online and take it to go.

Booyah! It’s open year-round, but they shine brightest in the summer with their fun, modern take on the American diner/ice cream shop. After a ball game, a date or a festival – this is the place to stop, relax and refuel.
