A suspect wanted by Athens-Clarke police in connection with numerous criminal fraud charges was arrested Thursday.

Reveckeyo Anwann Hill, 38, of Commerce, was booked just before 3 a.m. at the Athens-Clarke County Jail after turning himself in to face 14 warrants charging him with theft by deception and identification fraud.

He was denied bail at the jail and will have to ask a judge for a bail hearing. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant in Gwinnett County.

Hill was arrested on 14 warrants stemming from fraudulent vehicle loans, many of them tied to his business H&P Auto Brokers, police said.

His arrest followed an investigation by Detective Sgt. Nathan Franco, who also accused him of numerous counts of fraud in 2023. Hill has been indicted on some of the charges, but others are still awaiting a grand jury hearing. Hill has pleaded not guilty to the indicted charges.

Additionally, he was convicted of identity fraud and forgery charges in Elbert County, but was allowed to avoid serving time after a judge granted him a plea bond. Northern Circuit District Attorney Parks White said this week that he is seeking to revoke the bond on appeal.

Franco said the 2023 and this year’s indictments allege victims lost nearly $1 million due to Hill’s fraudulent activity.
