The former Fox News host failed to find a foothold after leaving the network in 2017, with brief stints at Blaze Media, Sinclair Broadcast Group and, most recently, Newsmax.

Eric Bolling is no stranger to controversy, but his latest departure from Newsmax — just seven years after parting ways with Fox News — has left many of his fans and viewers wondering what’s in store for him.

Who is Eric Bolling?

Eric Thomas Bolling is a conservative TV personality, author and political commentator.

Bolling was born on March 2, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois.

After graduating from Rollins College with a degree in economics, he had a brief stint in professional baseball, playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates before a rotator cuff injury cut his career short.

Bolling then worked as a commodities trader on Wall Street and served as a panelist on CNBC’s Fast Money.

In March 2008, Bolling joined Fox Business Network as a financial analyst.

He went on to serve as co-host of several shows, including Happy Hour, Follow the Money with Eric Bolling, and Cashin’ In.

He also appeared as one of the five co-hosts of The Five and served as a guest host on several Fox News opinion programs, including Fox and Friends and The O’Reilly Factor.

In 2016, he wrote Wake Up America: The Nine Virtues That Made Our Nation Great—and Why We Need Them More Than Ever.

The following year, he published his second book, The Swamp: Washington’s Dark Well of Corruption and Cronyism and How Trump Can Drain It.

In May 2017, Bolling, alongside Katherine Timpf and Eboni Williams, began serving as co-host of Fox News Specialists.

After leaving Fox News, Bolling joined Conservative Review’s CRTV in the summer of 2018.

He later began hosting a TV show on TheBlaze network titled America.

In 2019, Bolling began hosting America This Week for Sinclair Broadcast Group, although the show was quietly canceled in January 2021.

He then launched a podcast with former football player Brett Favre, aptly titled Bolling with Favre.

Bolling currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife, Adrienne.

What happened to Eric Bolling?

On August 4, 2017, HuffPost published an article about Bolling, alleging that he allegedly sent lewd, unsolicited text messages to his female colleagues at Fox News and the Fox Business Network.

The report also alleged that Bolling made several unwanted advances toward her female colleagues, along with inappropriate and lewd comments.

Bolling denied the allegations but was suspended from Fox News the following day pending an investigation.

On September 7, 2017, Bolling left Fox News, leading to the cancellation of Fox News Specialists.

“Eric Bolling and Fox have agreed to part ways amicably,” the network said in a statement, as reported by HuffPost.

“We thank Eric for his ten years of service to our loyal viewers and wish him the best of luck,” the network added.

Tragically, on the same day that Bolling was let go from Fox, his 19-year-old son, Eric, died of an accidental drug overdose.

Bolling later created the Eric Chase Foundation “in memory of his son as a platform to combat the scourge of opioids that claims tens of thousands of American lives each year,” as reported in his website.
