Bionca Ellis, 32, was indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury on nine felony counts, according to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley.
This includes one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of child endangerment, one count of tampering with evidence and one misdemeanor count of robbery.
As News Center 7 previously reported, the stabbing happened in the parking lot of a Giant Eagle in North Olmsted on Monday afternoon.
A three-year-old boy and his 37-year-old mother were stabbed.
Doctors transported the boy and his mother to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, CBS affiliate WOIO reported.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the boy as Julian Wood.
His mother, Margot Wood, 37, was also stabbed but is expected to recover, according to Cleveland Media.
“This case is truly devastating. I want to express my sincerest condolences to the Wood family during this difficult time,” O’Malley said in a statement. “As a father, I cannot imagine this pain, but I can promise that we will do everything in our power to bring justice to Julian Wood and the Wood family.”
Ellis’ arraignment was scheduled for Monday, June 10.
