The National Park Service is closing another section of the Towpath Trail.

This time in Brecksville.

A large section of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail between Station Road Bridge Trailhead in Brecksville and Frazee House in Valley View is closed.

The section of the popular hiking trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park is not expected to reopen until June 28.

There are no detours available and will not be open on weekends.

The park service says the closure is necessary so workers can complete resurfacing the trail following a riverbank stabilization project completed in May.

Workers will also perform emergency repairs to a sinkhole located south of the Frazee House.

Another area of the Towpath Trail, south of the Station Road Bridge Trailhead, remains closed during the week to stabilize the river banks.

This section of the trail is open to visitors on weekends. The work is scheduled to be completed on August 2nd.
