Ann Blair Gribbin compared her son’s injuries to something out of a movie, for one Carinhosa Bridge page.

She revealed that the beach in northwest Florida’s Walton County was packed with people standing on the sand looking at the water.

She and her family heard speculation that a shark was in the water.

Gribbin ran to the beach when his daughter didn’t answer the phone.

She revealed that her daughter suffered injuries to her legs and was screaming.

“She was lifeless, her eyes closed, her mouth white and pale,” Gribbin said.

Gribbin said her daughter’s eyes were open as she held her hand.

She admitted that she didn’t know how long Lulu had been lying in the sand.

Lulu was rushed to hospital and doctors were forced to amputate her right leg from the knee to the hip.

She had also lost about two-thirds of the blood in her body after the savage attack.

Doctors also warned that Lulu would need four to five surgeries.

Gribbin revealed that Lulu’s first words were “I did it” as she spoke to her family from her hospital bed.

Lulu has since opened up about the attack.

She revealed that a man and a younger child helped carry her to shore.

Meanwhile, doctors on the beach placed a tourniquet on Lulu’s wounds.

Shark attacks in 2023

In 2023, there were 79 shark bites worldwide.

Of that number, 69 were unprovoked bites and 10 were provoked.

The United States had 36 unprovoked attacks, which represented 52% of incidents worldwide.

Two of the attacks, one in California and the other in Hawaii, were fatal.

Consistently, Florida has had the most attacks in the country and 2023 is no different. The Sunshine State had 16 attacks last year.

Three of the 10 deaths in 2023 happened at a remote surfing spot off the coast of South Australia known as the Eyre Peninsula.

The area is home to seals, so they attract great white sharks.

The other five fatal attacks were spread across the world, with one each in the Bahamas, Egypt, Mexico and New Caledonia.

According to the Florida Museum International Shark Attack Archive

Gribbin described his daughter as strong, beautiful and courageous as he paid a heartfelt tribute.

“At this point, we will have multiple surgeries over the next few days and our lives will change forever,” she admitted.

“She truly is a miracle. We have a long way to go and our journey is just beginning!”

She paid tribute to the doctors who saved her daughter’s life.

Lulu’s friend McCray was also bitten by a shark on the foot, according to the ABC affiliate WDHN.

An hour and a half before Lulu and her friend were attacked, a 45-year-old woman was also attacked.

HORROR MAULING

Fire chiefs revealed that part of his left arm was amputated.

Authorities suspect the same shark attacked all three victims.

The spate of beatings was the first attack in the county in three years, according to local media reports.

The last shark attack fatality in Walton County happened in 2005.

Walton County law enforcement officials emphasized that sharks are always present in the Gulf.

“Swimmers and bathers should be cautious when swimming and be aware of your surroundings,” police said.

The trio of attacks come just weeks after Damiana Humphrey, 19, was attacked by a wild beast.

She said she started punching the predator when she realized he was stuck in her hand.
