“The Golden Bachelor” Gerry Turner and his wife, Theresa Nist, announced Friday that they are divorcing three months after their televised wedding.

“Theresa and I have had several heart-to-heart conversations and looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so on and have mutually come to the conclusion that it is probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Turner, 72, said in “Good Morning America.”

The pair tied the knot in a televised ceremony in January after meeting last fall on the first season of “The Golden Bachelor,” a spinoff of ABC’s long-running reality show “The Bachelor.”

Nist, 70, thanked his fans for their support.

“I don’t think we can tell you how many people have told us it gave them so much hope,” she said. “We don’t want any of this to change for anyone.”

Turner and Nist did not say what led to the split, but suggested they had trouble deciding where to live. Nist is a New Jersey financial services professional and Turner is a retired restaurant owner from Indiana.

The pair told ABC News’ Juju Chang in November that they planned to live in South Carolina.

“We looked at houses in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey and we just looked at house after house,” Nist said. “But we never got to the point where we made that decision.”

Turner and Nist won hearts during the first season of “The Golden Bachelor,” where seniors got a chance to find love. Turner was searching for a romantic partner following the death of his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 2017.

Although the marriage was short-lived, Turner and Nist said they still love each other.

“I have no doubt that I am still in love with her,” he said. “I root for her every day.”

“Yes, I still love him,” Nist added.
