Who is Scott Kimball?

Born on September 21, 1966, Scott Kimball is an American serial killer, conman, and scammer from Boulder, Colorado.

When Kimball was 22 years old, he began scamming and stealing.

His first convictions were for passing bad checks in Montana and breaking into houses in Colorado.

After being accused of kidnapping and assaulting his second wife, Larissa Hentz, in Spokane, Washington, Kimball fled to Alaska.

While serving time for fraud in Alaska, he was approached by the FBI.

Investigators questioned him about information relating to his fellow inmates, Arnold Flowers and Steve Ennis.

As a result of Kimball’s cooperation, he was acquitted of his charges in Washington and his sentence in Alaska was reduced.

In 2002, he was released on bail and became an FBI informant.

On January 29, 2003, Kimball murdered his then-girlfriend, 24-year-old LeAnn Emry.

He fatally shot LeAnn during their trip to Bryson Canyon in Utah. His remains were recovered in March 2009.

On February 16, Kimball claimed his next victim, 25-year-old Jennifer Marcum.

On August 23, 2003, 19-year-old Kaysi McLeod became another of Kimball’s victims when she disappeared on her way to work.

Kaysi was the daughter of his third wife, Lori McLeod.

In 2007, the victim’s body was recovered near Kremmling, Colorado.

The crime scene was close to where Kimball and Lori spent their honeymoon.

In September 2004, Kimball murdered his uncle, 65-year-old Terry Kimball.

On June 29, 2010, Terry’s body was discovered in a mountainous area near Vale Pass, Colorado.

On March 14, 2006, Kimball was arrested in Riverside, California.

On October 8, 2009, he pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder.

By taking a plea deal and agreeing to lead police to the victims’ remains, he avoided the death penalty.

Where is Kimball now?

Kimball remains incarcerated at USP Florence High in Fremont County, Colorado.

From his marriage to Larissa Hentz, Kimball has two children; sons Justin and Cody.

His crimes are revisited in an episode of CBS 48 Hours titled Hannibal Unmasked.

The Kimball investigation is also recounted in a Dateline NBC episode, A Deal with the Devil.

His crimes are covered in an episode of ABC’s 20/20 titled Rocky Mountain Horror.

When was Kimball convicted?

In October 2009, Kimball was sentenced to 70 years in prison.

He confessed to the murders of LeAnn, Jennifer, Kaysi and Terry.

“I’m not denying there was a murder,” said the killer CBS News.

“Yes, I committed murder. In cold blood? I don’t believe that’s true. I’m retired. I don’t believe I’m going to [kill again].”
