LONDON — The Princess of Wales says she is “making good progress” with her cancer treatment and will attend the Trooping the Color royal ceremony on Saturday, Kate’s first public appearance since her diagnosis.
Prince William’s wife, 42, has not made any public appearances this year. She announced in March that she was undergoing chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer.
“I’m making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days,” Kate said in a statement on Friday, adding that she faces “a few more months” of treatment.
“I’m looking forward to taking part in the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hoping to take part in some public engagements over the summer, but also knowing that I’m not out of the woods yet,” said Kate.
The announcement is a significant milestone, but it does not mark Kate’s return to full-time public duties.
