ANOTHER victim of the mass shooting at a supermarket in Fordyce, Arkansas, has died, bringing the death toll to four.
Travis Eugene Posey, 44, is accused of opening fire at the Mad Butcher supermarket on Friday, June 21, and shooting 14 people before being arrested.
Three people were pronounced dead on Friday and now a fourth victim has died on Saturday night, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
The victims were identified as Shirley Taylor, 62; Callie Weems, 23; Roy Sturgis, 50; and Ellen Shrum, 81.
Witnesses say Posey blew up the supermarket window before shooting.
Two police officers were shot during the melee but are expected to survive, Arkansas State Police said.
Posey was involved in a shootout with police that ended with him being “grazed in the head” before being taken into custody, according to the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department. prisoner file.
He has been charged with three counts of capital murder and more charges are expected to come, investigators said.
