A Florida dentist who bragged about enjoying violence faces up to 15 years in prison for threatening more than 40 victims with disturbing messages.

Richard Glenn Kantwill, 60, of Tampa, was charged after allegedly harassing nearly two dozen victims between August 2019 and July 2020, court documents reveal.

Kantwill, who was arrested earlier this week, sent around 100 threats via email, social media and text messages, threatening to harm and kill victims.

The threats were often politically charged and in one case caused the victim to spend thousands of dollars on security cameras, the DOJ said.

He also sent threats to politicians, celebrities, authors and more, according to court documents seen by The US Sun.

“Fuck you and yours. Hire extra security […] you’re going to need it,” Kantwill told one victim he disagreed with about Donald Trump.

“I intend to fuck you […] just for fun.”

In the same message, he allegedly went on to call the victim a “degenerate piece of shit.”

In a separate incident, he threatened to kill several victims, including one he called an “anti-Christian piece of shit.”

“First torture, then death,” he wrote, according to the DOJ.

After that, the victim allegedly purchased $4,500 worth of security cameras, prosecutors said.

He told another victim that “I can’t wait to shoot your ghetto a** in the street.”

Federal agents first spoke to Kantwill in October 2019 after someone complained about his messages, according to court documents seen by The US Sun.

He was told to stop sending messages, but the dentist – who suffers from PTSD, depression and alcoholism – didn’t do so.

“Despite the FBI’s warning, Kantwill spent the next ten months sending threats to more than 40 victims via social media and email,” prosecutors said in a request for pretrial detention.

Prosecutors allege the dentist “repeatedly sent threatening messages to people across the country who did not hold the same beliefs as him.”

“The numerous messages that Kantwill sent to various people threatening injury and death, his disdain for law and order expressed in many of his messages, the fact that he boasted about his collection of firearms that he will never surrender, his expressed desire to purchase illegal firearms, and his continued pattern of making threats, all show that Kantwill poses a danger to the community if released,” prosecutors said.

In July 2021, FBI agents requested a new meeting with the Iraq veteran.

The Floridian denied speaking to officers and said he was not doing anything illegal and that his actions were justified.

“He blamed the government, minorities and other entities for being the reason he spoke out,” prosecutors said.

Kantwill was assigned a public defender and his defense argues for release before trial, saying prosecutors have not proven the dentist ever planned to carry out his threats.

“The government has presented no evidence that Dr. Kantwill is a danger to anyone,” court documents say.

“Although the government stated that Dr. Kantwill made threats online, it did not present anything to suggest that Dr. Kantwill did so.

Kantwill went against his lawyer’s advice and “spontaneously told the Court” that his statements were “empty threats,” said his public defender Samuel Landes, according to the The Raleigh News & Observer.

Kantwill tested positive for marijuana during a pretrial test, according to court documents.

The 60-year-old – who received an “other than honorable” discharge from military service – has no criminal record, but Judge Thomas Wilson denied appeals for his release.

“I will not allow anyone to die under my watch. I will not change my position. He will be detained,” said the judge, according to WFLA.
