A lifeguard who appeared in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film has died after being attacked by a shark off Oahu in Hawaii.
Tamayo Perry, 49, who also starred in Charlie’s Angels: Full Speed and Blue Crush, was attacked near Goat Island on Sunday afternoon, Honolulu emergency services said.
The incident was reported by a caller who said he had seen a man suffering from what appeared to be shark bites.
Emergency services arrived at the scene on Malaekahana beach shortly before 1:00 p.m. local time.
Rescuers brought Perry, an Ocean Safety lifeguard and surf instructor, to shore by jet ski and paramedics assisted with the pronouncement of death, said Shayne Enright of the Honolulu Department of Emergency Services.
Perry, who worked as a lifeguard on the North Coast, began his career with the Ocean Safety department in July 2016, Enright said.
Appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Ocean Safety staff posted shark warnings in the area after the attack.

Honolulu Acting Ocean Safety Chief Kurt Lager said Perry was “a lifeguard loved by everyone.”
“He’s very well known on the north coast. He’s a professional surfer known all over the world,” Mr Lager said.
“Tamayo’s personality was contagious and as much as people loved him, he loved others more.”
“Tamayo was a legendary and highly respected boatman,” said Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, calling Perry’s death “a tragic loss.”
