A BRITISH tourist was found dead in a holiday apartment in the Algarve while his friend mysteriously disappeared.
The 35-year-old man was found inside an apartment in the city of Albufeira, Portugal, by police officers alone, despite being with a friend.
It is believed he was staying at the property with a friend who has not been found since his body was discovered by police, Correio da Mana reports.
The Portuguese GNR police were the first to arrive at the scene, but the investigation has now been handed over to the country’s Judicial Police.
Both forces have not yet commented on the situation.
Multiple police, firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the busy apartment building when the body was found.
The victim died in his room before emergency crews arrived.
