Spanish police officers are questioning local residents who claim they saw missing British teenager Jay Slater celebrating while watching the Euros.

It turns out the 19-year-old’s distraught family takes aim at the trolls who torment them with “vile” deadly rumors and hacking social media accounts.

Jay, 19, disappeared without a trace in Tenerife last week, baffling search teams as they scoured the landscape for clues.

A shocking new development came to light when Mayor Emilio Jose Navarro said local police received reports about Jay watching the tournament “on the coast.”

He said local police interviewed people who might have seen him.

The mayor added: “Some people think he may have been in the coastal area of the municipality, they saw him partying in a bar on the days when the Euro Cup games were taking place.”

The Judicial Police is investigating the City Hall’s security cameras, which, according to Navarro, serve more tourist purposes than security.

He continued: “They are also working with the company that takes care of these cameras, it is the Guardia Civil that takes care of this.”

Jay was staying at a Tenerife Airbnb, where he partied before disappearing.

Investigator Mark William Thomas gave a description of the two “key witnesses” who last saw Jay at his home.

He spoke with the owner of the rental property and several witnesses; including Jay’s friends, who gave him information.

Both men are black, in their 30s or 40s, and were not at the NRG festival, Mark said.

He threatened to release the likeness of one of the men if they did not come forward.

Witnesses spoke to the teenager outside Papagayo nightclub last Monday morning before taking him back to his accommodation, Mark said.

One of the men was described as being around 6ft tall, rather stocky, with short dark hair, was wearing an orange bracelet and drinking Hennessy brandy.

Mark explained how the men were “not helping” and that the family were “desperate” for them to come forward as witnesses.

He said the group sat outside a club after the night ended and witnesses said Jay seemed “pretty in control.”
