But will Biden hit birdies or bunkers?

What is Joe Biden’s golf handicap?

Biden boasted that his disability was six years, and several reports from when he was vice president echo his claims.

This means he would typically shoot just six shots over par, making him an excellent golfer for his age.

According to golf.comthe average handicap in the US is 14.2 and, at six years old, Biden would rank in the top 16% across the country.

One 2016 Golf Digest Report in Washington’s Top Golfers, however, Biden was listed 68th with a handicap of 10.

The same ranking placed Trump in 12th place, with an impressive 2.8.

But Golf Summary a year before reported that Biden had a 6.2 handicap.

It’s unclear what Biden’s downside would be now.

What did Joe Biden say about his golf handicap?

During the dispute between the two over golf, Biden stated that he reduced his handicap to six when he was Barack Obama’s vice president between 2009-17.

He said: “I reduced my disability, when I was vice president, to six.”

When Trump challenged him, he backed off slightly, saying, “I had an eight handicap. Yes. Eight.”

Biden then challenged Trump to a round, but only if the latter agreed to carry his own bags.

Biden asked: “Do you think you can do it?”

During the debate, Trump challenged Biden by claiming that “he can’t hit a ball 50 meters” when the pair argued over who was more fit for the job, as both were past retirement age.

Biden said he would be “happy to have a driving contest.”

Trump did not believe his rival’s handicap claim, saying: “That’s the biggest lie, that he has a six handicap.”

If Biden were to face Trump, it wouldn’t be the first time a political showdown was played out on the fairways.

In 2011, he and Obama played their Republican counterparts, former House Speaker John Boehner and Ohio Governor John Kasich.

Kasich played Biden against Obama and Boehner in a rare case of Republicans and Democrats joining forces — but seemed disappointed with his teammate’s performance.

Kasich in 2012 said that despite Biden’s listed handicap, he was not a good golfer.

Kasich said at the 2012 Republican National Convention: “Joe Biden told me he was a good golfer and I played golf with Joe Biden.

“I can tell you that’s not true, just like all the other things he says.”
