The teen was last reported leaving his grandmother’s house more than two weeks ago, NBC affiliate WTHR reported.

Cheryl Wright picked up her grandson after her daughter allegedly asked and noticed severe bruising on his face.

“He just said it was his father, but he wasn’t mad, but he wasn’t mad at his father. He told me he deserved it and it was okay,” Wright told WTHR.

“So I told him that it wasn’t like that and that no one should hit their children like that, not if they loved them.”

Wright took Bryson back to his home in Cleveland and he was picked up by his mother, father and an unknown adult male a few days later.

However, before Bryson’s parents could pick him up, Wright called the police.

A few minutes after Bryson was picked up at Wright’s Ohio home, police stopped the van he was picked up in.

But when the car was stopped, Bryson was nowhere to be found.

Disappearance of Bryson Muir

The Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for Bryson Muir on June 16.

  • 14 years
  • 6 feet 2 inches
  • 185 pounds
  • Black hair with brown eyes
  • Last seen wearing an orange Under Armor shirt and blue jeans
  • Missing from Logansport, Indiana

When asked what she believed happened to Bryson, Wright said “the only thing the cops told me is they probably put him in another vehicle and that car drove off.”

The Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for the 6’2, 14-year-old boy, stating, “He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.”

There have been no updates on Bryson’s whereabouts since the Silver Alert was filed, but his parents are no longer cooperating with the investigation, authorities reported.

Bryson’s parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, agreed to bring their son to a meeting with investigators on Friday at 12 p.m.

An hour before the scheduled meeting, the Muirs backed out of the agreement.

The Indiana State Police said the Muirs’ failure to meet the agreed meeting time “signaled an unwillingness to cooperate” with police.

Police were unable to contact Bryson’s parents weeks before the scheduled meeting, and now online speculation is leading some to believe that a cult may be involved in Bryson Muir’s disappearance.

Police said the property where the Muir family lives, as well as the car driven to pick up Bryson from his grandmother’s house, belonged to the Fox affiliate Servant Leader’s Foundation. WXIN reported.

The Servant Leader’s Foundation is a religious nonprofit organization that promotes putting other people’s needs above your own.
