donald trumpin Criminal conviction in New York could potentially prevent two of their New Jersey Golf Clubs to participate in the lucrative business of serving alcoholic beverages.

The state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control told the Trump Organization it will not renew liquor licenses for Trump National Golf Clubs in Bedminster and Colts Neck, both of which expire Sunday. The company is expected to defend the renewal at a hearing on July 19, although both properties can continue serving alcohol until then under temporary licenses.

New Jersey law liquor licenses for “any person who has been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude.” Kirstin Krueger, the agency’s interim director, said in a letter to the Trump Organization that the ex-president’s conviction for hush money “raises concerns about whether this licensee remains qualified to hold said license.”

A third Trump golf club in New Jersey, Trump National Philadelphia, renewed its license on June 3, days after a New York jury found Trump is guilty of 34 criminal charges.

The presumptive Republican Party nominee is potentially facing much more serious consequences for his conviction, to be sure. from Trump Judgment of July 11 it can result in time behind bars, probation or a conditional discharge. But his criminal conviction also has the potential to affect aspects of his vast business empire.

New Jersey’s attorney general, whose office oversees the regulatory agency, said earlier this month that his office is investigating whether Trump’s conviction affects your businesses’ eligibility for a state-issued liquor license. The Trump Organization previously rejected the attorney general’s review, saying Trump (himself a teetotaler) does not have a liquor license in the state. Licenses for both properties are detained on behalf of his son Donald Trump Jr., Business Insider reported. But the regulatory agency said it found that Trump Sr.direct beneficial interest” in the licenses.

The Trump Organization called the July 19 hearing “unwarranted and unwarranted” in a declarationadding: “We sincerely hope that this investigation is not political in nature.”
