3 dead in Georgia home shooting as police investigate possible murder-suicide

Three people were killed in a suspected murder-suicide Saturday in Coweta County, Georgia, authorities said.

Deputies responding to several calls shortly after 1 a.m. found two bodies in the garage and one in the doorway of a home on Crabapple Court, the county sheriff’s office said.

When deputies arrived, a fourth person ran into the residence, after which a gunshot was heard, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. post to X.

A SWAT team secured the area and police later found the body of the fourth person in the home, the sheriff’s office said. The office is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

The identities of the deceased were not immediately released, pending notification of their families.

A neighbor told the NBC affiliate WXIA of Atlanta that she heard a loud noise that she initially thought was thunder around 12:30 p.m. “I live right around the corner,” Brandi Wright told the station. You can no longer be safe in your own home.”

The Coweta Sheriff’s Office said it would provide more information as the investigation unfolds.
