Amusement Park Accidents USA 2024

There have been four amusement park accidents in the first six months of 2024.

April 21: At least 14 people were injured after a tram accident at Universal Studios in California.

April 28: Police were called after two groups of people got into a fight at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia.

June 15: While participating in the AtmosFEAR ride at Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon, 28 people were suspended upside down for nearly 30 minutes.

June 20: A man was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a 68 mph roller coaster on Kings Island in Ohio.

“The claim is that he gets along well [the roller coaster] well and then comes out quadriplegic,” attorney Morgan Martin told the Myrtle Beach Sun News.

“It’s a very sad day for that young man, who is in horrible conditions.”

Sannyashi said his injury required expensive medical treatment, hospitalization and intensive care to recover.

The lawsuit alleged he requires 24-hour nursing care and suffers from extreme pain and depression due to his permanent injuries.

Adhikari is suing for several reasons, including loss of companionship and assistance, according to WTTG’s lawsuit.

Both lawsuits seek damages because Sannyashi is incapacitated and unable to carry out his “regular affairs and duties” or earn money for his support.

The amusement park responded to the Myrtle Beach Sun News saying, “We are disappointed that we have been sued over an incident that allegedly occurred 20 months before we owned the park,” said representative A. Preston Brittain.

“We cannot speak further on this matter as litigation is pending.”
