Although he currently lives in a public housing unit, Mousen is being threatened with eviction because he does not have the necessary documentation to remain there.

Mousen does not yet qualify for a social security number and other official documentation needed to prevent her eviction from the unit.

“The sheriff told me they would come right away because they marked my eviction as a serious circumstance,” he said. CTV News.

Mousen arrived in the country as a student, but health problems forced him to abandon his studies.

However, due to his home country’s attitude towards homosexuals, it is not safe for Mousen to return home.

“Being gay where I come from is illegal,” he said.

“I went through a lot of things there that forced me to level up at 17 and come to Canada,” he said.

Regardless of the outcome of the eviction filing, Mousen highlighted to the media outlet her love for Canada and her feeling of safety there.
