The devastated mother of a firefighter found dead with his work colleague has revealed disturbing details from security footage showing his final moments.

The bodies of Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were discovered in Cocke County, Tennessee, on Sunday after an agonizing, days-long search.

The pair, from Hinesville, Georgia, were last seen on June 25, five days before their bodies were found in Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus.

Kuhbander’s mother, Jane, says she has since obtained security footage that captured the car as well as her son on the last day he was seen alive — and believes the surveillance may hold more clues about his death.

According to Jane, the footage initially shows Anderson’s car driving through a shopping mall that houses his son’s gym, Crunch Gym.

Kuhbander could then be seen leaving the mall and, according to his mother, looked “very comfortable.”

“At 11:40 a.m., my son comes out of the building and he looks very comfortable, like he just got done exercising,” Jane told the local ABC affiliate. WJCL.

“He doesn’t seem hurried as he walks through the parking lot. After that, we don’t see him again.”

Jane said Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus could later be seen leaving the parking lot.

The mother further stated that if Kuhbander had left with Anderson, it would not have been of his own free will, insisting that he would have been under “duress”.

“He wouldn’t want to leave,” said Jane, for TV Court.

“We believe that when she stopped, it was a matter of duress, and he went with her to prevent her from getting hurt. She is not in her right mind.”

Anderson and Kuhbander dated for seven years but split in 2023.

The firefighters lived and worked together at the Liberty County Fire Department and, after their separation, saw each other regularly at work.

Jane said she quickly realized something was wrong when her son didn’t attend his sister’s birthday party last week and missed work the next morning.

FIREFIGHTERS FOUND

The bodies of Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were found on June 30, along with Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus, according to the Hinesville Police Department.

Before they were found, authorities believed they were traveling together in Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus, which has Georgia license plate GEX655.

The pair were last seen Tuesday morning in Midway, Georgia, and family members last spoke to Kuhbander at 11:20 a.m. that day.

His vehicle was found in Savannah, but no firefighters were located.

Their cell phones were turned off at around 7:30 p.m.

Jane claimed that Kuhbander called her around 10 a.m. that morning after a disturbing conversation with his ex-girlfriend, Anderson.

“He was telling me that she was blowing up his phone and said that she had threatened to kill herself,” she said.

“And it’s not the first time she’s done this.”

Writing on Facebook while the pair were still missing, Jane said: “She’s a danger to herself.

“Raegan is a great person. She’s a great firefighter. We just want her to get home and get help,” the mother said before police discovered it.

Video discovered by police reveals that Anderson was last seen purchasing gasoline outside of South Carolina.

“My understanding is that his phone received a signal at the same gas station where she lost her debit card and can be seen pumping gas,” Hinesville Police Chief Tracey Howard said via Firehouse. with.

“From what I could see, I couldn’t tell he was in the vehicle.”

‘I’M TERRIFIED’

Jane said in a recent interview that she believes her son’s ex-girlfriend was in a “mental perplexity” before her disappearance.

“I’m terrified,” the mother told Court TV.

“I’m trying not to catastrophize the situation, but it’s hard when so many things are going wrong.”

Anderson was previously arrested on June 22 for allegedly breaking a window and keying Kuhbander’s car.

Anderson confronted her ex-boyfriend at Olive Garden in Pooler, Georgia, while he was dating someone else, according to a police report.

Kuhbander’s companion left during the fight and the two continued arguing in the restaurant’s parking lot, according to the report.

“Anderson stated that she did not know why she damaged Kuhbander’s car other than that she was very injured because he drove away,” the police report said, according to Court TV.

“She stated that they had been together for a long time and she was hurt.”

Jane told WJCL that Anderson posted bond on two charges, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

TRAGIC DEATH

The bodies of the two firefighters were found Sunday night along with Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus, according to the Hinesville Police Department.

“We regret to inform the public that the bodies of missing persons Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, along with Anderson’s vehicle, were discovered in Cocke County, TN.” a Facebook to update of the department read.

“Tennessee authorities are currently investigating the scene.

“Details regarding the discovery of their bodies, vehicles and events leading to their deaths are not available at this time.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the Anderson and Kuhbander families during this incredibly difficult time,” a department spokesperson said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and no further details have been released by police.
