First Fridays in July in Adrian have everything from ‘Big Wheels’ and live music to fireworks

ADRIANO – Race Street and a portion of the Kiwanis Trail in Adrian will be closed to the public during the afternoon and evening on Friday, July 5, as the city of Adrian prepares to light up the downtown sky with a fireworks show. fireworks sponsored by First Fridays TLC Community Credit Union.

Downtown streets will be closed from 2:30 p.m. Friday until approximately 9:30 p.m., a news release from the city of Adrian said, as Adrian celebrates its new fireworks display and “Big Wheels” for the July monthly edition of First Fridays -fairs.

People are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to Comstock Park263 W. Maumee St., on the corner of Church and West Maumee streets, where you can better view the fireworks show that will begin at dusk.

DJ John Hess will be at Comstock Park to keep guests dancing from 7pm to 10:30pm.

Early evening First Fridays will feature the Adrian Fire Tuck Pull to raise money for Special Olympics Michigan; a Touch-A-Truck event; live music with Jaded Soul and On the Rocks; the Annual Bicycle, Trike and Hot Wheels Show and Parade; a celebration of the centenary of 100 years in Adrian Armory Events Center; promotions and activities in city center companies; and a Hot Wheels raffle for the first 500 children under 12, one per child and courtesy of CR Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram by Adrian.

Public parking is available in several lots in downtown Adrian, the city said.
