MANY are used to seeing the sweet, smiling lad in Kinder’s face – but now the British boy is all grown up.
Josh Bateson, 30, graced our Kinder chocolate boxes in 2005 until recently.
The child star appears to have continued a successful life since then, remaining relatively in the spotlight.
Josh finished school and impressively went on to study politics and international relations at Loughborough University.
Her Instagram account boasts a luxurious lifestyle, with trips around the world, yacht vacations and even shopping at ultra-wealthy designer Cartier.
Kinder’s poster boy continued his career as a model and dabbled in influencing, boasting 94,000 followers on Insta.
He doesn’t seem to shy away from his chocolate fame, as photos on the internet show him smiling next to Kinder packaging with his face painted.
The 2017 selfie received thousands of likes and comments from Kinder chocolate fans.
One comment read: “Seriously, is that you?”
Another said: “THE KINDER GUY”
And: “That’s the kindest guy, I’m shocked”
Many couldn’t believe how different Josh looked now, saying, “I can’t believe it’s you.”
Despite his long appearance on the box, Josh wasn’t the first face of Kinder.
Günter Euringer started out as the chocolate boy in 1973.
He was retained by Kinder for many years until he finally abandoned the role.
Günter was often seen on packaging with long hair, short hair, ears or no ears – Kinder adapted his look over the years, keeping up with modern trends.
But change came in 2005 when Josh took the crown as Kinder Boy.
Kinder shoppers were left heartbroken by the move, launching a bizarre campaign called ‘Get Rid of Kevin’ – despite his name being Josh.
But Josh remained in the box until 2019.
Famous Ad Kids – Where Are They Now?
MANY adverts featured kids who rose to stardom – but some live pretty ordinary lives now.
Cadbury’s ‘eyebrow dance’ girl
In 2009, Cadbury released arguably its most memorable advert – the ‘dancing eyebrows’.

Nestlé’s Milkybar kid
The saying that continues to resonate in everyone’s mind is “Milkybars are on me!”
In the 90s, Conrad Coleby starred as the boy Milkybar, donning a Western-style horse.
As an adult, the child star launched a career in Australia, starring in Disney’s Home and Away and Sabrina Down Under.
Hovis and the ‘bike boy’
In 1973, Carl Barlow appeared in the nation’s favorite ad of all time – the Hovis ad.
He is remembered cycling up a steep hill with a basket full of bread.
After his acting career, Carl became a firefighter.
Nestlé’s separatist boy
The advert for Nestlé’s Breakway biscuits featured a boy who steals one of his sister’s chocolates.
After Matthew Shaw starred in the ad, he continued to act in various roles in small productions well into adulthood.
