The halls of Miami International Airport weren’t filled with red, white and blue on the Fourth of July — but rather bright lime green.

A pipe leak in the airport’s Concourse G caused fluorescent fluid to flow from the ceiling at 9 a.m. ET Thursday morning, the airport said. Crews immediately responded to the scene and determined the liquid was not dangerous.

The spill was cleaned up within an hour and a half, the airport said in an X post.

“We would like to thank our passengers in Concourse G for their patience and understanding this morning,” the post read.

Greg Chin, director of communications for the Miami-Dade Department of Aviation, said in a subsequent statement that the mysterious solution was, in fact, just water.

“The liquid was water from the air conditioning system with a green dye, so if there is a leak, it can be traced back to its source,” Chin said.
