Viewers of MACY’S Fourth of July Fireworks broadcast criticized the show’s lineup of performers.
After technical difficulties forced a postponement, dozens of people complained on social media about not knowing or recognizing any of the singers.
Then, as more artists took center stage, many spectators admitted they didn’t know who they were.
“Who are these terrible performers at the #FourthOfJuly Macys fireworks show tonight?” one person asked on X.
“Seriously, who are these people. What about displaying artist names, damn,” said someone else.
“I don’t know why I’m watching this, I don’t know any of these people, I must be getting too old for this,” asked a third person.
Artists like Amber Mark, Bell Biv DeVoe, Mark Ambor and more took the stage tonight.
The annual fireworks show has been going on for 48 years.
Viewers had the option to watch the show on NBC, Peacock, or even in person.
The broadcast promised “unforgettable stars, grandiose pyrotechnics and a salute to the American spirit that is one of the summer’s biggest hits.”
However, many called the special “lackluster” after they started watching the show.
“This is a true third-line formation. I don’t know any of these people. I barely know the hosts,” one person wrote.
“Now they brought in some Olympians and they’re on the damn fencing team?! Everyone deserves a chance but come on. #MacysFireworks”
Some people even questioned why some of the artists didn’t dress up more.
“Couldn’t this Mark wear more than a white t-shirt and jeans to the #MacysFireworks show?!” someone else asked.
“Come on, a little more dazzle would have been nice”

NBC was airing promos for some of its shows and the upcoming Paris Olympics before finally switching to live broadcast at around 8:10 p.m.
Viewers took notice, wondering why they weren’t watching anything but commercials.
“Uhh @nbc I mean I love watching promos but why was there 5 minutes of promos on an episode of AGT? What happened to #MacysFireworks? It’s #4th of July,” one person asked.
“Where’s the show? Why am I only seeing commercials?” another user X questioned.
“Damn, soooo many commercial breaks. My God,” said a third person.
