A victim pulled from a house fire Saturday was found with a gunshot wound, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators said police were called to the home at 20332 Wood Duck Road in Altoona around 1 p.m. after neighbors reported the home was on fire.
Lake County Fire Rescue crews worked to put out the fire and removed a man from the home.
No one else was injured.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 49-year-old Michael Allen Gall.
Deputies said Gall lived in the house that caught fire and that he had already died by the time first responders arrived at the scene.
Detectives will now conduct a death investigation into the incident.

One person is dead after a murder in Altoona Saturday afternoon that also resulted in a fire, authorities said.
Crews were called to Wood Duck Road just before 2 p.m.
They said neighbors heard a man screaming outside a home and several gunshots after he entered.
Shortly afterwards, the house was engulfed in flames.

Investigators have not released any information about the victim and said they are working to identify a suspect.
The fire has already been put out.
