Two people were killed and 17 others were injured in a shooting at a party in Detroit on Sunday morning.
Detroit police reported that a gunman opened fire at 2:25 a.m. at a party on the city’s east side, according to NBC affiliate WDIV. Michigan State Police also confirmed two deaths in a statement posted to X on Sunday.
“Michigan State Police are assisting the Detroit Police Department in a shooting investigation through our partnership with the Homicide Task Force,” state police said.
There is currently no suspect in custody, according to state police. No additional details about the identity of a possible suspect have been released.
The Detroit Police Department did not immediately respond to NBC News’ requests for more information.
