SEVERAL teenagers claim to have seen Bigfoot during a group camping trip.
The scared teenagers were enjoying their time in a Louisiana forest when they saw a shocking scene.
The new high school graduates told Natchitoches Parish sheriff’s deputies that they saw a figure matching the description of Bigfoot walking toward them.
After embarking on a 1.5-mile hike in the Kisatchie National Forest, the teens set up camp on the Back Bone Trail.
However, around 9pm, the group of 17 to 18 year olds heard a surprising sound.
“They reportedly heard a growl and saw what appeared to be an animal that had glowing eyes and was about five feet tall,” said the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Department posted on Facebook.
Two police officers arrived at the scene after the teenagers called.
Officers reportedly spent time searching the campsite for any suspicious activity and found the teens unharmed.
No traces of Bigfoot or any other large animal were found.
“We congratulate the…graduates, thank you for visiting Natchitoches Parish, the Kisatchie National Forest and good luck in your future,” the department wrote.
The sheriff’s post attracted widespread attention from Facebook users.
Bigfoot, the legendary character believed to be roaming North America, is said to be about 8 feet tall, not 5 feet like the teenagers said.
“Those who claim to have seen Bigfoot have described everything from a large, upright ape to an actual hairy human, sometimes over eight feet tall and described as powerfully built,” said the Washington State Military Department he wrote.
Facebook users dismissed the creature the teens allegedly saw as “Baby Big Foot.”
“If he was five feet tall, he might actually have a ‘bigfoot,’” one user wrote.
Others alleged that the trail traveled by the students has a reputation for being home to dangerous animals.
“When I was a kid, I remember my dad calling this trail ‘The Devil’s Backbone Trail,’” one woman wrote.
“I don’t know if he was being funny or something, but that’s what I always thought he was and it scared me!”
“Probably a pig or a bear. I’ve seen a lot of pigs in this area and some are pretty big,” wrote another Back Bone Trail regular.
Most of all, many wondered if the teenagers were sober when they claimed to have seen the Bigfoot creature.
“What drugs did they use?” wrote one user.
“Asking for a friend.”
