JOE Biden addressed rumors about abandoning the 2024 presidential election, saying he is still running and intends to defeat Donald Trump.
After the disastrous presidential debate leading up to the November elections, people have been begging Biden to drop out of the race.
“Now that you’re back from the Fourth of July recess, I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to defeating Donald Trump. Trump,” Biden wrote in a letter posted to Instagram on Monday morning.
He said he was “not blind” to people’s concerns about the election, but said he was aware of the work it required.
“I can respond to all of this by saying clearly and unequivocally: I would not be running again if I did not absolutely believe I was the best person to defeat Donald Trump in 2024,” he wrote.
Biden also detailed his statistics in the race, stating that he received more than 14 million votes and 3,900 delegates pushing for him to be the presumptive Democratic nominee.
“This was a process open to anyone who wanted to compete,” he stated.
“Only three people chose to challenge me. One did so poorly that he dropped out of the primary to run as an independent. Another attacked me for being too old and was defeated.
“Democratic Party voters voted. They chose me to be the party’s candidate.”
He also said: “I have no doubt that I – and we – can and will beat Donald Trump.”
Biden also discussed the plans he had if he were reelected this fall, including reinstating Roe v. Wade. Wade and Supreme Court reform.
‘PLEASE JOE’
Despite Biden’s proclamation, Democrats are still begging him to drop out.
Horror author Stephen King was one of them.
“Joe Biden has been a great president, but it is time for him – in the interests of the America he loves so much – to announce that he will not run for re-election,” he shared in a statement. tweet posted on X.
Other voters made it clear they wanted the same thing as King.
“I appreciate what President Biden has done for our country, but my loyalty is to the United States, above my share. The well-being of our nation is the most important thing to me,” one commenter wrote.
Biden’s post-debate gaffes
President Joe Biden’s gaffes have increased at an alarming rate in recent years.

- “By the way, you know I was at that World War I cemetery in France and one — the one that one of our colleagues, a former president, didn’t want to go and be there,” Biden said in an apparent dig. on former President Donald Trump.
- “I probably shouldn’t even say that. Anyway,” he continued as his voice trailed off.
- After shocking the audience, he quickly went back to the script and tried to regain his energy.
“Read the room, Joe. It’s time to step down,” shared another.
“I support you, but I believe you should do the right thing and step aside and let a new leader come in to take us forward,” said a third.
“As a supporter, this is disappointing,” commented one Democrat.
“This will be an easy victory for Trump after this performance. For his legacy and for the American people, the right thing is to resign.”
Other users begged the president to make the call.
“Please stay away… for the sake of our country,” one user begged.
Another wrote: “Please Joe. You know what you need to do.”
“You won’t win!” Please give up and give us a chance,” insisted one voter.
One person said they had already made up their mind about their vote.
“I voted for you. In good conscience, I cannot vote for you again. Please give up,” they said.
