WHAT:
Drag queens will bring faux femme funk to Funky Buddha Brewery this month.
The event — called the Christmas in July Drag Brunch Charity Fundraiser — will be hosted by artist Nicole Halliwell and will bring a cast of superstar female impersonators from South Florida to the Oakland Park venue. It is being produced by Visit the Lauderdale Food and Wine Festival to raise money for Santa Claus in disguisewhich hosts an annual holiday party and toy drive in the Fort Lauderdale area.
“We always wanted to find a way to incorporate drag into one of the many events we host throughout the year,” he said. Rory Cooksey, one of the festival’s partners and board member of Undercover Santa. “It’s fun, light-hearted and just plain fun…
“We didn’t just want to organize a typical charity event; we wanted to stand out and offer attendees something unique and memorable,” Cooksey added. “cool buddha has a fantastic space that perfectly complements the vibrant energy of a drag queen brunch, making it the ideal venue for this special occasion.”

Hours are 11:30am to 2pm on Sunday, July 28th.

Omelet Station — Lake Meadow Naturals Eggs with your choice of sides, including red or green peppers, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, caramelized onions, mushrooms, bacon bits, ham, cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese

Chicken and Waffles —Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Warm Buttery Waffles, served with maple syrup and hot sauce

Side dishes – Candied bacon, regular bacon, sage sausage, seasonal berries, IPA caesar salad, wild mushroom/onion/potato hash
